On Dec. 4, 1978, after meeting the Foreign Trade Minister of France, Deng Xiaoping announced that China would purchase 2 nuclear power plants from France. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant project in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province was launched.
On Aug. 7, 1987, the construction began on the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant.
On Feb. 1 and May 6, 1994, the Unit 1 and Unit 2 of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant began their respective commercial operations.

On June Jun. 9, 2010, representatives from CGN Uranium Resources Company and the mining industry of Navoi Uzbekistan signed the Natural Uranium Trade Contract.
On Jan.1, 2012, Phase II of Licun, Korea Power Plant of Fuel Cells of Meiya Power began commercial operations, adopting technology from the American FCEL Energy Company. It was the largest as well as the most advanced fuel cell unit worldwide.
On Jun. 8, 2012, CGN Wind Power Co., Ltd. and Jinfeng Technology Co., Ltd. signed an equity agreement on the acquisition of Australia’s Morton’s Lane wind power project.
On Nov. 8, 2012, construction of the Husab Uranium Mine, the third largest uranium mine in the world, began.
From 2013, several units of Ningde Nuclear Power Plant, Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant and Yangjiang NuclearPower Plant successively began their commercial operations.

On Oct .14, 2014, CGN became the final investor of Units 3 and 4 of Romania’s Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.
On Dec. 10, 2014, CGN Power (Stock code: 1816.HK) was successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
On Dec. 14, 2014, CGN and Kazatomprom signed an agreement on expanding cooperation on nuclear energy.

On Oct. 21, 2015, CGN and EDF formally signed an investment agreement on a UK nuclear new build project. The Chinese consortium led by CGN will invest in and construct the UK Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Project, and develop the nuclear power projects of Sizewell C (SZC) and Bradwell B (BRB).

On Dec. 22, 2015, CGN Mining Company Ltd. and Canada Fission Company signed a letter of interest, by which CGN planned to subscribe for 19.99% of the shares of the Canadian company.
On Dec. 23, 2015, CGN, Guangxi Investment Company Ltd. and RATCH, a subsidiary of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, signed a joint venture agreement on Phase II of the Fangchenggang nuclear power project.
On Dec. 24, 2015, HPR1000 demonstration unit, which is also the Phase II of the Fangchenggang nuclear power project, formally began construction.
