CGN Services Group Corporation and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) signed an agreement on building a joint laboratory for environmental governance on March 15, marking a new phase of cooperation in the field of environmental governance between the two sides.
Wu Junfeng, chief accountant of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), attended the signing ceremony. Ren Nanqi, vice president of HIT and Wang Yulin, general manager of CGN Services Group Co, signed the agreement on behalf of each party.
According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the development of environmental governance technology, personnel cultivation and achievement transformation. They will take the joint lab as a carrier to integrate CGN's advantages on market, brand and capital with HIT's advantages on scientific research, in order to create a world-class environmental protection technology platform.
Wu Junfeng said that the cooperation between the two sides in the field of environmental governance is a concrete action for central enterprises to implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and respond to the call of building a beautiful China and implementing new development concepts.
CGN, an important clean energy enterprise in China, is deeply involved in the environmental protection industry and regards water environmental protection as a key emerging business. HIT has strong scientific research strength. The two sides perfectly complement each other, said Wu.
He hopes that the two sides can cooperate together to achieve mutual benefits, strengthen the cooperation in technology development and application and take the mission of “building a clear blue sky, creating a better life”, and contribute positively to the construction of “beautiful China”.
Ren Nanqi said that HIT attaches great importance to the cooperation with CGN in the field of water environmental protection. The State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resources and Water Environment owned by HIT has great reputation in scientific research.
The joint lab is an organic combination of the central enterprise's brand strength, business execution power and market appeal and the university's advanced scientific research results. It helps speed up the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, fulfill social responsibilities, and improve the ecological environment.
The construction of the joint lab is another great cooperation between the two sides after they signed the framework agreement on water environmental protection cooperation in 2016. Their cooperation in water environmental protection has been further deepened, which will create a favorable environment for technology application and lay a solid foundation for CGN's advanced environmental governance technology system.
The report of the 19th CPC National Congress pointed out that it is urgent to speed up the prevention and control of water pollution, implement comprehensive management of watershed environment and coastal waters and strengthen the disposal of solid waste and garbage.
CGN will actively implement the spirit by focusing on the comprehensive management of water environment, water supply and solid waste treatment. It will create a regional environmental management brand and undertake great social responsibility for the realization of "clearer sky, cleaner water and greener land".
