A seminar was held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nuclear Safety Consultative Committee (NSCC) of the Daya Bay and Ling Ao nuclear power plants on July 11.
It was attended by members of the 10th NSCC and representatives of the committee’s previous members, the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations and Management Co (DNMC) and Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co.
Pan Yinsheng, general manager of DNMC, recalled the committee’s history and its contribution in spreading knowledge of nuclear power among people in Hong Kong and Macao. He also thanked all the NSCC members for their support and help.
The next day, Pan briefed the NSCC members and DNMC shareholders on the work of the committee over the last two years and the company’s achievements in management improvement, bench-marking projects and dissemination of knowledge about nuclear power at the fifth session of the 10th NSCC, which was also held at the Daya Bay NPP.
In the afternoon, the committee held a press conference in Hong Kong attended by Tso Wong Man-yin, the vice chairperson of the 10th NSCC and several committee members.
They introduced the operation of Daya Bay NPP and addressed media concerns at the conference.
The NSCC has made great efforts to promote nuclear power in Hong Kong and helped create a favorable environment for the construction and operation of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base.
