As one of the first national energy research and development centers built by the National Energy Administration, it was set up on January 6, 2010 at Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, as a part of CGN Technology Research Institute.
It has more than 300 employees,including over 200 engineering technicians,of whom 150 are with a postgraduate degree or higher in 20-plus engineering majors and subjects. So far, the center has won dozens of national and provincial awards and received more than 100 invention patents. It has presided over and participated in the setting of over 100 industrial standards, and provided equipment appraisal for over 50 Chinese nuclear power equipment producers and more than 100 pieces of equipment.
