He Yu, male, the Han Nationality, born in March 1957 in Shanxi province, has a master’s degree and a PhD in management and is a researcher-level senior engineer. He joined the Communist Party of China in December 1990. He enjoys the special allowance of the State Council. He is the Secretary of Party Leadership Group, and Chairman of the Board of CGN.
He worked successively as a deputy shift manager, operation engineer, deputy branch manager and branch manager of the operations department, manager assistant of the production department and plant manager of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant at Guandong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co. from 1986 to 2001, during which time he was sent to France to receive professional training on nuclear power. He was among the first group of individuals from China sent to France to learn nuclear power production and operation technologies. After finishing the challenging and costly training and made such great contributions to the domestic nuclear sector that they earned the name“Goldenmen” in the domestic nuclear industry.
In 2001, He successively served as Deputy General Manager of Guandong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., General Manager of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operations and Management Co. and member of the Party Leadership Group and Senior Vice President of CGN.
In 2005, he was appointed as President of CGN and since 2010 has served as the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Board of CGN.
