CGN Services Group Co., Ltd., (CGN Services), a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Pacific Construction Group (CPCG) in Shenzhen on June 21.
According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in watershed management and the "sponge city" construction, which focuses on permeable surfaces and water infrastructure to realize the full utilization of rainwater.
The agreement will enable both parties to optimize their own advantages in terms of technologies and experiences.
CGN specializes in treatment of decentralized wastewater, industrial wastewater, solid waste, and construction of the “sponge city”. It is also a regional environmental governance solution provider. CPCG boasts an abundance of experiences in infrastructure investment and construction.
The move echoes the country’s call on the construction of ecological civilization and will help realize win-win results between the state-owned enterprises and private companies.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the average annual output value growth rate of China's environmental protection industry will surpass 15 percent, and its output value will exceed 2.8 trillion yuan ($411 billion dollars) by 2020, according to a report released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
CGN Services has provided a group of services and solutions for urban-rural environmental governance projects through various investment modes, such as direct investment, public-private partnership (PPP) and build-operate-transfer (BOT).
