CGN signed an agreement with Electricité de France (EDF) of investment in the construction of nuclear power projects in the UK, to build Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power project, and promote the two follow-up projects SZC and BRB. For CGN-led BRB Project, it’s proposed to deploy HPR1000 technology.

On Oct 21, 2015, witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and former British Prime Minister David Cameron, CGN Chairman He Yu and EDF CEO J.B. Levy signed on the investment agreement in London on the projects which will be carried out by CGN-led Chinese consortium and the EDF, including nuclear power plants in HPC,SZB and BRB.

Another cooperation document on industrial cooperation principles was signed in March 2014.

In March 2013, the group began negotiation with the Electricité de France (EDF) over cooperation projects to set up nuclear power plants in the UK. One cooperation document was signed with the agreements on investment cooperation intention in Oct 2013.
