Swakop Uranium awards first tender to Namibian female

Swakopmund, 20June 2016 – Swakop Uranium awarded a civil works contractto a fully empowered Namibian and female owned company, OMK Civils.

OMK Civils, wholly owned by Mrs Yvonne Samson-Johannes, will be responsible for the fencing of the Husab Mine, which is a significant tender.

Mr Zheng Keping, Swakop Uranium CEO says: “It is part of Swakop Uranium’s desire to work hand in hand with the National Agenda of the Government and the Harambee Prosperity Plan to provide more meaningful and empowerment opportunities in the mining industry for females, in particular previously disadvantaged groups and to reduce unemployment in the youth categories.Swakop Uranium will provide full support to OMK Civilsto increase their construction management and technical capacity during course of the project”.

OMK Civils was established to provide services in the areas of civil construction and infrastructural services. The company is located in Windhoek with satellite offices in Eenhana and Katima Mulilo.
