As one of the first national energy research and development centers built by the National Energy Administration, it was set up on January 6, 2010 at Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, as a part of CGN Technology Research Institute. It has more than 300 employees, including over 200 engineering technic

It mainly researches, tests, and produces key nuclear equipment for small modular reactors (such as ACPR50S), advanced reactors (such as high temperature reactors and lead-bismuth reactor), the Generation-III reactors (AP1000 and HPR 1000), and CPR1000. It has also helped formulate a nuclear-grade equipment research and developm

The center has co-developed more than 30 pieces of key nuclear power equipment with national science research institutions and equipment manufacturers. Some of the equipment have reached international advanced levels in KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), breaking the foreign technical monopoly and earning more than1 billion yuan
