Home > State R&D centers > Nuclear Power Safety Monitoring and Equipment Lab > Scope

Focusing on three factors - insecure status of objects, insecure human behaviors, and environmental impacts, the lab studies theories and technologies in enhancing full life-cycle safety of nuclear power, including research on nuclear power safety state and its quantitative evaluation, research on nuclear power risk early warning and accident prevention and control, research on human reliability and human-machine interaction, and research on service safety of nuclear power equipment.
It aims to undertake major science research tasks in China’s nuclear power safety efforts and deal with some important scientific issues related to source identification of nuclear power safety risks, safety assessment, risk prevention and control, and accident inhibition in nuclear power design, equipment manufacturing, operation and maintenance.
The lab will help increase the monitoring and supervision of safety for national nuclear power, and become a worldwide highland for innovation on nuclear power safety technologies, equipment, and fostering talented personnel.
