Zhejiang Ninghai Wind Power received high praise from European energy experts for its well-established ecological environment when they carried out a recent tour to the new energy plant.

A nine-person delegation consisting of officials of governmental energy sectors and enterprise representatives from eight Central and Eastern European countries visited Ninghai wind farm — the only wind power plant in China honored for ecological conservation.
Located in Ningbo’s Yishi town, Ninghai wind farm was designed as a garden-like power plant with minimal negative impact on the surrounding environment.
The project has become an excellent local cultural tourism resource, and is viewed as a calling card for CGN New Energy Holdings in promoting low-carbon and natural protection.
The delegation gave thumb-ups to the perfect combination of energy exploration and environmental conservation when seeing the picturesque landscape where coreopsis were in full bloom along the roadside and the wind turbines were rotating slowly against the background of terraced fields of tea gardens.

Rihards Rušenieks, a senior expert in energy markets and infrastructure at the Ministry of Economics of Latvia, lavished praise on CGN’s project, saying “it is worth being introduced and promoted in my country.”
Delegates also increased their knowledge of the wind farm. Details such as the on-grid tariff, generation efficiency, and some other technical parameters regarding the wind turbines, including site selection, operations, maintenance and the life cycle of the wind farm were provided.
Ninghai wind farm started power generation in December 2014 with annual utilization hours exceeding 2,100 hours.

Presently, its 24 sets of 2MW-wind turbines have an average annual generation capacity of approximately 100 million KWhs. The electricity generated by clean energy is equivalent to a reduction of standard coal by 30,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 277,000 tons, which contributes significantly to the construction of Beautiful Zhejiang province and Beautiful China.
This study tour was part of the "16+1" cooperation mechanism, an arrangement between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC).
China and CEEC, all emerging market economics, are highly suitable for cooperation in tackling the urgent task of adjusting energy structure.
This visit plays a positive role in reaching a consensus and expanding cooperation between China and CEEC in the energy sector.
China and CEEC established the "16+1" cooperation mechanism in Warsaw in 2012. The 16 European members are important cooperative partners with China along the Belt and Road.
