China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), a major Chinese nuclear power operator, has been awarded Golden Bee for its strong sense of corporate responsibility. The award was announced at the 13th International CSR forum held in Beijing from June 5 to 6.

CGN’s Husab uranium project in Namibia has contributed to local economic growth, personnel training, sports and cultural development. The project developed the “Husab model” featuring co-construction and win-win results, and set an example for Chinese companies going global of taking on responsibility in the overseas locations, stated the forum organizer.
Other names on this year’s Golden Bee CSR China List include China National Petroleum Corporation and China Petrochemical Corporation; in recognition of their continuous efforts in this regard.
A company named on the list is viewed as exemplifying responsibility.
CGN shared its best practices at a panel titled “Overseas CSR Practices of Central SOEs” on June 6 with other award-winners such as State Grid Corporation of China, China National Petroleum Corporation and China Three Gorges Corporation. The Husab project was included in the collection of best practices of the 2017 Golden Bee CSR.

Since 2008, China WTO Tribune, a monthly journal on China's World Trade Organization-related work published by the Ministry of Commerce, has been evaluating Golden Bee reports about CSR for Chinese enterprises.
It aims to award those committed to operating with credibility and integrity to ensure sustainable growth, and to publicize and promote the experience and practices of award-winners. That process in turn drives more companies to release CSR reports and promotes CSR development in China.
This year’s forum was jointly organized by China WTO Tribune, CSR Europe, and Japan’s Council for Better Corporate Citizenship.
