CGN’s 1st Traditional Chinese Clothing Festival in France was held at Italie Deux shopping mall in Paris on Nov 17.
Set to roaring drums and trumpets, a lion dance performance ignited the atmosphere and attracted crowds before the fashion show that included 20 French models attired in traditional Chinese clothing walking down a catwalk.
Attendees were not only able to feast their eyes on more than 100 Han clothes and those from other historic periods, but also learned about their history and characteristics.
There was a 15-minute catwalk show every other hour to showcase the traditional Chinese clothes of different periods, including Han clothing, Tang Dynasty-style clothing, and cheongsams, as well as the craftsmanship, inheritance, and innovation behind them.
At the experience zone, a large number of French people put on their favorite traditional Chinese clothes and took photos. Many of them still queued up as late as 6 pm that day.
In addition to the clothes, the festival also included workshops on paper-cutting, calligraphy, macram, facial makeup, and photography, which were also popular among visitors.
Buon Tan, chairman of the France-China Friendship Group at the French National Assembly, Jerome Goumet, head of the 13th district, and Huang Yuanzheng, president of CGN European Energy Company, attended the event.
