The Dangtu 260 mW photovoltaic project launched by CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. (CGN New Energy) was officially put into operation on Dec 22, with its 220 kV booster station starting to boost currents at 5:18 pm that day.
Located in Dangtu county of Maanshan, Anhui province, the project covers a water surface of over 6,000 mu (400 hectares) of Shuangtan Lake, providing electricity at a subsidy-free tariff of 0.3844 yuan ($0.05) per kW/h.
As one of the first batch of subsidy-free photovoltaic projects in 2019 approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, the project started construction on Sept 16 this year and took only 98 days to complete. It is the only of its kind to be launched and put into operation in Anhui province this year, as well as the largest photovoltaic project offering subsidy-free electricity in East China.
During the construction process, the engineering management took various measures to ensure that the project construction proceeded with high quality and efficiency without causing traffic jams and environmental pollution.
The booster station for the project was innovatively designed with pre-stressed high-level pipe and pile platforms. To address concerns about its appearance and operational convenience in the future, the project uses an overhead large platform on which all equipment foundations are set.
In addition, the Dangtu photovoltaic project creatively optimizes its general layout, focusing on the photovoltaic panel array, as well as the application of new materials, technologies, and processes, while striving for a reasonable and smooth production process with clear divisions and easy production operation management.
Throughout the project construction and operation, CGN New Energy attached great importance to environmental protection. With the aim of developing clean energy and contributing to China’s environmental protection efforts, the company has been committed to achieving the integrated development of enterprises, counties, and cities with the environment.
To build itself into an environmentally-friendly power station, the Dangtu project has been actively carrying out environmental monitoring and greening work. After completion, the project will be one of the benchmark ecological photovoltaic power stations in China and provide a new choice for residents to go on vacation and seek leisure.
