The annual CGN “8·7 Public Open Experience Day” has come! This year, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (“Yangjiang Nuclear Power”) invites a group of special participants, who travelled thousands of miles to help Wuhan save lives with their fervent zeal. In face of the unexpected outbreak of Covid-19, they went to Wuhan to fight" bravely.  They are Yangjiang's most beautiful medical staff. They are here to learn about nuclear power knowledge, feel the culture of nuclear power and uncover the mystery of nuclear power.

At 9:00 in the morning, gathering in the Sunshine Garden, the medical staff started the journey with full of expectation

After arriving at nuclear power plant, they watched the video of “New Energy of Nuclear Power”, from which they learned about the glorious course of development of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station from site selection in 1988 to the full completion of 6 gigawatt-level PWR nuclear power units.

Mr. Ye Zhiqiang, Assistant General Manager and News Spokesman of Yangjiang Nuclear Power, warmly welcomed the arrival of medical staff, and paid highest respect to them for making heroic efforts to help Wuhan initiatively.

At the same time, he also mentioned that he hoped nurses could see more in the power station to learn about the safety and reliability of nuclear power and its economic and environmental features, and also hoped everyone could continue to support the development and construction of PWR nuclear power base, which is now the largest one in the world.

Walking into the popular science exhibition hall, the medical staff led by the guide, learned about the power generation principle, three safety barriers and radiation protection knowledge of the nuclear power plant.

When coming into the simulator training classroom, different from the past medical post in white coat, they practiced the operator work in the complex operating disk, fully feeling the charm of the main control room.

Medical staff then went to a 70-meter high viewing platform, overlooking six nuclear power units and enjoying a panoramic view of the beautiful Yangjiang nuclear power base. With showing of the Chinese White Dolphin murals, 3D stereograph of nuclear island core internal structure displayed on the platform square, these medical staff are fully amazed and pick up their mobile phones to record each scene.

In the afternoon, medical staff went to the fire building, under the guidance of firefighters, medical staff tried on fire shelter clothes, entered fire engines, and learned to use fire extinguishers.

In the emergency command center, the staff introduced in detail the strict safety management system, the comprehensive supervision mechanism and the complete emergency management system of Yangjiang nuclear power base, and invited the medical staff to participate in the emergency drills on the spot to feel the safety culture of Yangjiang nuclear power at zero distance.

Mrs. Feng Yigai, a nurse from the Municipal people's Hospital, was known by netizens because she signed a “Pig Intestines Loving Hot Dry Noodles” on her protective clothing during the epidemic. After the visit, she said, before coming to nuclear power, she felt that nuclear power was very mysterious, and finally found that the construction of nuclear power base was very shocking. As a clean energy source, the nuclear energy will make a significant contribution to the development of human society.
