To build dreams by the mountain and sea, ——Children's Journey of Science and Technology

On 26-27 August, CGN carried out “Rainbow Plan” —— 29 left-behind children from “Egret Class” of LanJin Primary School in Lingyun County, Guangxi, went in for series activities with the theme of “Experiencing the beauty of science and technology and expanding the vision of egrets”. Activities helped children broaden their horizons and understand the impact of high-tech development on people's work and life in an interactive and experiential way.



On the first day

On the afternoon of August 26, these children entered the Guangxi Science and Technology Museum and began their journey of exploration, technology and innovation. In the High-tech Dome Cinema, these children were put in a universe simulation scene to learn about the origin of the universe and related knowledge. In the popular science exhibition hall, led by the guide, these children visited and learned these themes of scientific enlightenment, environmental survival, life and health, information world and so on. In the process, children not only played games with robots, but also gained interesting scientific knowledge.



Later, in the exhibition hall co-organized by Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd and Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, these children visited popular science projects, such as “Secret of Reactor”, “Operating Nuclear Island”, “China's Name Card” HPR1000 and smart grid. During the visit, these children were sometimes serious and sometimes playful, and pairs of clear eyes twinkle with curiosity about new things.




If there were no “Rainbow Plan”, how could the children in the mountains have a chance to hear such a high-level concert?” Teacher Mao, who led the team, said excitedly. That night, in the multi-function hall of the Public Information Center of Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Base, these children and nuclear power workers enjoyed a concert brought by artists from Guangxi Performing Arts Group. Among them, Introduction and performance of musical instruments, such as the dulcimer, clarinet, zither, let these children further increase the knowledge of music.



On the second day

On the morning of August 27, these children went to Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Base to learn and practice first aid knowledge, and visited HPR1000 construction site and the popular science exhibition hall of the Base Public Information Center to learn about the development of nuclear power, the principle of nuclear power generation and the composition of nuclear fuel assemblies. They also carried out practical experience through virtual auxiliary equipment such as VR.




At the beautiful Sunshine Coast Beach of Fangchenggang City, volunteers led these children to carry out various quality development activities, such as “Passing the parcel”, “Crossing the river by touching the stones”, “Passing table tennis ball”, “Idiom salon game” and “Chinese character competition”. Finally, the activities ended in the laughter of the children.

Rainbow Plan” is initiated by CGN, as a brand action of educational poverty alleviation, dedicated to help LanJin Primary School in Lingyun County, Guangxi. Since the launch of the “Rainbow Plan”, four series activities, such as Rainbow Class, Rainbow Education , Rainbow Vision and Rainbow Home, were carried out orderly. These activities, such as Relay Aid Education, Pairing-helping, Mobile Library and Theme Lecture Hall, were started in succession.
