The China-Kazakhstan Fuel Assembly Plant, jointly funded by CGN and the Kazatomprom National Atomic Company, was officially commissioned in 2021. It is a landmark project of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and Kazakhstan’s “Bright Road” program. In November 2022, the first batch of nuclear fuel assemblies produced by the China-Kazakhstan Fuel Assembly Plant was successfully delivered to the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station. This project holds great significance for consolidating nuclear fuel cooperation between China and Kazakhstan and for promoting the establishment of a new landscape in the nuclear energy industry.
