Nuclear fuel is a key pillar supporting CGN’s nuclear energy development. The business scope covers: Uranium resource development (uranium exploration, mine construction, uranium mining and hydrometallurgy), natural uranium trading (procurement and sales, transportation and storage of natural uranium), general contracting services (fuel assembly fabrication and construction, assembly transportation), and spent fuel management. In Namibia, CGN owns the Husab Uranium Mine, the world’s largest open-pit uranium mine by facility scale. In Kazakhstan, the China-Kazakhstan fuel assembly plant Ulba-FALLP commenced operations in 2021. It is a landmark project of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and Kazakhstan’s “Bright Road” program.
