Starting from the construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, CGN developed China’s homegrown third-generation nuclear power technology“Hualong One” (HPR1000) with proprietary intellectual property right, and embarked on an innovative clean energy development path with nuclear energy at its core. As of June 30, 2025, CGN operates 28 nuclear power units and has 20 units under construction, with a total installed capacity exceeding 56 GW.CGN provides professional services across key segments of the nuclear power industry chain, including nuclear fuel, engineering design, technological R&D, project construction, and routine operation.Starting from the construction of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, CGN developed China’s domestically owned third-generation nuclear power technology, the “Hualong One” (HPR1000), and pioneered an innovative clean energy development path with nuclear energy at its core. As of June 30, 2025, CGN operates 28 nuclear power units and has 20 units under construction, with a total installed capacity exceeding 56 GW.CGN provides professional services across key segments of the nuclear power industry chain, including nuclear fuel, engineering design, technological R&D, project construction, and daily operation.
In 2024, 86% of the WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) indicators of all CGN’s operating units reached the world’s advanced level, maintaining this level for seven consecutive years, with CPR units achieving an average capacity factor of 93.1%. Unit 1 of Ling Ao Nuclear Power Station Phase I has operated continuously without an unplanned shutdown for 18 consecutive years. As of the end of May 2025, Unit 1 of Ling Ao Nuclear Power Station had been in safe operation for over 6,763 days, setting and continuously refreshing the world record for the longest safe operating day of units of the same type internationally.
The “Hualong One” (HPR1000), China’s third-generation nuclear power technology with proprietary intellectual property rights, has become one of the most competitive third-generation nuclear power reactor types on the global market. CGN’s domestic demonstration project, Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station Unit 3 in Guangxi, met the condition for achieved commercial operation on March 25, 2023. On May 25, 2024, Unit 4 of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station met the condition for commercial operation as well. As of September 2025, CGN has 16 “Hualong One” nuclear power units in total, of which 2 are in commercial operation and 14 are under construction, located across Guangdong, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, and other regions, with batch construction progressing steadily.
