At 9:26 Beijing time on May 6, the first ignition of the gas turbine — a key milestone for the Daesan Phase II project of CGN Energy International's Korean subsidiary — was successfully completed, marking the project's official transition from the cold commissioning phase to the hot commissioning phase.
The Korean Daesan Phase II project is the first large-scale gas-fired power generation project of CGN Energy International to adopt an autonomous project management model. Its design management, procurement, construction, and commissioning are all independently carried out by its Korean subsidiary, giving it more significant advantages in cost control and schedule management. Since construction began in October 2023, the project has strictly adhered to the baselines for safety, quality, and environmental management, actively responded to external challenges, and completed phased tasks on schedule and to a high standard, including design, equipment manufacturing supervision and delivery, and on-site construction. To comprehensively ensure the efficient execution of commissioning, the Korean subsidiary coordinated resources, assigned roles in a collaborative manner, fully drew on good practices from related projects, and successfully introduced low-cost gas from the Yulchon Phase I project for use in Daesan Phase II commissioning, further reducing project costs.

In the next phase, CGN Energy International will continue to strengthen safety and environmental management controls, steadily advance subsequent key milestones, and ensure that the Daesan Phase II project achieves its target of high-quality commissioning on schedule.
