The report shows that since the production of the first barrel of uranium on December 31, 2016, Swakop Uranium has been rooted in Namibia for nearly ten years. During this period, the company has consistently upheld the mission to "produce uranium efficiently and responsibly," focusing on resource development, compliant operations, local economic empowerment, and community contributions. In 2025, Swakop Uranium continued to build a modern mine operation system with international competitiveness, entering a new phase of high-quality development characterized by safety, environmental protection, and lean management.
In terms of production and operations, the company has strictly upheld the bottom line of safe production. The output of the Husab Mine reached yet another record high, helping Namibia become the world's third-largest natural uranium producer. In terms of economic contributions, the local procurement value reached 9.107 billion Namibian dollars, a year-on-year increase of over 22%, which has continuously revitalized the local industrial chain and powerfully driven economic growth. In terms of talent development, the company has achieved an employee localization rate of 96% and regularly provides training on operational skills, mine operations, and leadership to support the growth of local talent. In terms of environmental protection, the company signed a joint venture agreement with the Namibia Water Corporation to build a second seawater desalination plant in Namibia, which will effectively address the problem of regional water scarcity upon completion. In terms of community contributions, the company invested over 10 million Namibian dollars in public welfare throughout the year, launching multiple education, livelihood, and agricultural assistance projects such as Hope Farm, Safe Swakop, and the First Computer Lesson, thus supporting livelihood development. In terms of innovation-driven development, the company has actively promoted smart mine technology R&D and advanced projects such as heap leaching of low-grade ore, achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement while extending the mine service life through technical innovation.
At the launch event, the "HUSAB+" signature brand was released for the first time, introducing the sustainable development practice system with Husab characteristics. The letters of the "HUSAB+" brand represent development connotations including people-oriented, coordinated development, sustainable future, innovation-driven, and broad-based win-win cooperation, while the symbol "+" implies an infinite future, symbolizing the continuation and expansion of new spaces for China-Namibia mining mutually beneficial cooperation, rooted in a decade of hard work. This brand not only represents a systematic summary and accumulation of the sustainable development practices and philosophy of CGN and Swakop Uranium in Namibia, but will also fully permeate the entire process of mine production and operation, serving as an action guide for the company's business development, ecological protection, local empowerment, and other work.
Gaudentia Krohne emphasized the strategic significance of Husab Uranium Mine in sustainable development during her speech. She stated that against the backdrop of the global energy transition, the status of uranium as a strategic resource is becoming increasingly prominent. Mining is a pillar industry for Namibia's economic development, so its sustainable development should be integrated into project operations and shared-benefit models to truly become an important engine for industrial upgrading. As a key project in this field, Husab Uranium Mine is of great significance to the overall strength enhancement of Namibia. Over the years, Swakop Uranium has successfully transformed international investment into momentum for local development through standardized management, extensive cooperation, and sense of responsibility. Looking ahead, she hopes that Swakop Uranium will take the "HUSAB+" brand as a starting point to deepen industrial synergy and continue to contribute to Namibia's sustainable development with greater commitment and more concrete cooperation.

She mentioned that by consistently adhering to the parallel development of project operations and sustainable development, Swakop Uranium has grown from a large-scale construction project into an international, first-class mining enterprise. Over the past decade or more, Swakop Uranium has helped the Erongo Region achieve economic development, infrastructure improvement, and employment growth, while continuously carrying out various people's livelihood projects such as education support and agricultural assistance, becoming a pillar of local stability and a partner in promoting regional transformation. The Erongo Regional Government will continue to support all types of beneficial initiatives and hopes that Swakop Uranium will further deepen its interaction and cooperation with various communities and local enterprises in the Erongo Region to promote industrial synergy and sustainable development.

In his speech, Liu Haijun stated that the Husab Uranium Mine is a landmark project for CGN in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening China-Africa cooperation. Over the past decade, CGN has consistently adhered to the principle of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits," developing Swakop Uranium into a model window for CGN's overseas social responsibility. Through systematic efforts such as localized operation, capacity building, and community support, CGN has ensured that the fruits of development benefit every household in Namibia. In the past year, through its foundation platform, Swakop Uranium has focused on key livelihood areas such as agriculture, health, and education, stimulating endogenous motivation of the society through "proactive" assistance. The "HUSAB+" brand, released for the first time during today's event, embodies CGN's systematic thinking on sustainable development. Looking forward, CGN will continue to build a model for high-quality overseas development, a bridge for China-Namibia friendly cooperation, and a loyal practitioner of the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, contributing greater strength to writing a new chapter of China-Namibia friendship and promoting the building of a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
