During the event, Zhang Xiaosong, Wang Lin, Pang Songtao, and Li Li jointly released the 2025 CGN Sustainable Development Report.

In his welcome address, Zhang Xiaosong commended CGN’s commitment to CSR as a central state-owned enterprise (SOE). He remarked that CGN’s sustainable development story exemplifies how Chinese enterprises collaborate with international partners toward a shared future. In recent years, CGN has implemented a brand leadership initiative led by principal officers and established a “Four Inclusions” mechanism to ensure brand strategy advances in lockstep with business development. CGN has systematically established a corporate social responsibility system, continuously deepening its efforts and delivering targeted solutions across multiple fields, which has earned broad recognition from society. Through concerted efforts across technological innovation, green development, energy security, rural revitalization, and public charity, CGN has built strong technical capabilities while cultivating an engaging and compassionate brand presence. Zhang noted that deepening CSR commitment and accelerating brand value enhancement are major questions of our times that central SOEs must answer well. Standing at the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, central SOEs should fulfill social responsibilities with greater proactive awareness, build distinguished brands to higher standards, continuously strengthen core functions and enhance core competitiveness, and speed up the building of world-class enterprises. At the same time, central SOEs should strive to win broad trust through responsible operations and build global consensus through a brand with human’s touch. He expressed hope that CGN will build on this momentum and achieve greater success in sustainable development. Staying innovation-driven, CGN shall forge the brand core competitiveness and lay a solid foundation for responsibilities fulfillment with technological strength. Committed to green growth, CGN shall demonstrate the brand’s sense of responsibility with green and low-carbon development. Adopting a global vision, CGN shall build a world-class international brand through win-win cooperation and demonstrate the responsibility of a major country.

In his remarks, Pang Songtao extended a warm welcomed to the Chinese and international guests. He stated that CGN was built on a strong foundation and had embraced openness and innovation since its inception. With continuous breakthroughs, its business has expanded beyond nuclear power into a “6+1” industrial portfolio covering nuclear fuel, new energies, non-power nuclear, digital control, nuclear environment, and shared services. CGN’s total installed clean energy capacity has exceeded 110 GW, with operations in 21 countries and regions. Committed to a green development path focusing on nuclear power, CGN actively expands into multiple clean energy sources such as wind, solar, hydropower, and energy storage to optimize the energy mix and accelerate low-carbon transition. As of August 2026, cumulative clean electricity delivered to the grid exceeded 3.8 trillion kWh, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 3.5 billion tonnes, saving over 1.1 billion tonnes of standard coal, and afforesting more than 8.55 million hectares. CGN is actively building an integrated "Clean Energy+" development model, promoting photovoltaic desertification control, the integration of offshore wind power with marine ecosystem protection, and the synergy between agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries with clean energy, thereby linking clean energy development with ecological conservation and rural revitalization. Guided by the concept of win-win cooperation, CGN promotes industrial upgrading and regional economic development through its projects while concurrently conducting responsibility practices such as education assistance and community co-building, ensuring that the local residents could share the development benefits. CGN hopes to take this conference as an opportunity to advance the APEC spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and cooperation for mutual benefit and practice the Belt and Road principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, deepen practical cooperation with partners worldwide in green energy transition, technological innovation, ecological protection, and livelihood improvement.

Li Li introduced that CGN’s brand vision is to become a world-class clean energy group with global competitiveness, focusing on breakthroughs in key areas such as production and operations, engineering construction, technological innovation, and digital intelligence transformation, evolving from a clean energy supplier into a contributor to global sustainable development. CGN upholds its core brand philosophy of “Natural Energy Powering Nature”, and defines its brand connotation as “Safety, Green Development, Innovation, and Responsibility. Safety is the foundation, with nuclear safety safeguarded as the lifeline and multiple nuclear power operating indicators ranking among the world’s advanced levels. Green development is defined as the brand’s character. CGN firmly develop diversified clean energy including nuclear, wind, solar, hydropower, and energy storage, while advancing integrated development across heat, marine energy, green power, desert control, and hydrogen to align industrial growth with ecological protection. Innovation is the driver of the brand. CGN deploys three major scientific research platforms in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the Yangtze River Delta to inject enduring development momentum into the enterprise through technological breakthroughs. Responsibility gives the brand its human touch. CGN has established 31 “Egret Classes” at 12 schools across five provinces in China to support education, and carried out overseas local livelihood initiatives through outbound investment and project cooperation. Going forward, while deepening project operations, CGN will embed its brand philosophy throughout nuclear power operations, new energy development, and overseas project construction, share the benefits of cooperation with local communities, strengthen long-term regional development through technology empowerment and livelihood initiatives, and deepen international exchanges to build consensus on green development and tell China’s clean energy story with sincere communication.
